How to Register

To register for the TEAS 7, visit ATI’s website and click “register now.” The steps you take during the registration process will differ depending on whether you want to take an in-person or remote online test.

When you submit your registration, you will need to pay the testing fee, which is slightly different depending on which state you take the test in.

How is the TEAS Scored

Once you have completed the test, the hard part is over!

If you took the computerized/online test version, you’ll have access to your scores as soon as the test ends. If you took the paper-and-pencil version, you’ll receive your scores within 24-48 hours.

One of the perks of the TEAS test is that there is technically no way to “fail” the test! How is that possible? Because schools use your TEAS scores as an evaluation tool, there is no predetermined passing score to achieve. Different nursing programs will be looking for TEAS scores, so what counts as “passing” is up to those programs.

When you look at your score report, you’ll notice that there are two different types of scores listed:

Total Score: this is the percentage of questions you answered correctly

Content Area Scores: these are the percentage of questions you answered correctly in each section of the test

ATI automatically sends your scores to your selected institution when you register for the test. You can send your scores to a different school later on if you’d like.

Retaking the TEAS

If you didn’t get a passing score on your first try, that’s okay! The school(s) you are applying to will let you know how many times you can retake the test. Usually, you can take it up to three times per year.

Remember to pay the full testing fee every time you retake the test.
