How to Set Up Your Space for an Online-Proctored Exam With PSI
Taking the Architect Registration Examination® (ARE®) can be stressful—especially if you’re responsible for setting up your online-proctored testing environment. Knowing what to expect can help alleviate test-day nerves and ensure you’re able to successfully complete your ARE division. Before you take an online-proctored division of the exam with PSI, watch this video to make sure your workspace and testing environment meet all the requirements. Plus, learn some dos and don’ts for taking online proctored exams.
In the video, our exam expert Terrance Gutberlet will walk you through setting up the technology you’ll use to test, including your computer, monitor, and internet. He will also explain how to arrange your room, what objects to hide or remove, and more.
Before you schedule an online proctored exam, be sure to review NCARB’s ARE 5.0 Guidelines and PSI’s online proctoring guide for ARE candidates. These resources outline the requirements you must meet when taking an online proctored appointment. Before test day, you can take a free PSI test run to confirm your online testing setup meets environmental and technological requirements.
If you have any doubts about whether you can meet NCARB’s and PSI’s online proctoring requirements, please consider testing in person at a physical test center.
